WHAT IS MORE NUTRITIONAL THAN…

All our lives our parents told us to eat food that, as kids, we hated. I grew to love many of those foods but some, eh, not so much. I will list foods that are just as nutritious or MORE nutritious than the foods we don’t like. Let’s start with…

KALE

Here are 10 foods more nutritious than KALE. Some you may not like other greens just as much as Kale, some you may like them more than Kale, but what I’ve noticed about most foods we don’t like is that it all depends on how we serve them up. While KALE will beat most greens in Vitamin A (a nutrient we find in most foods and therefore not necessary to have high in your greens) And it is higher in vitamin C (which again, if you eat plenty of fruit you will not need this in your greens), it falls short in other nutrients that we do need to supplement in our diet, Like IRON (women especially need this), CALCIUM (the older generation and those who don’t drink or eat cow products (Vegans) especially need this nutrient, and

My favorite is baby spinach leaves. They are packed with nutrients, the stems are soft, and they can be added and go great in a nutritious shake.

I also love Romaine Lettuce.  It’s bittersweet flavor mixed with baby spinach makes for a very delicious and nutritious salad.  I love to add craisins, raisins or grapes, Feta Cheese or shredded cheese of any kind to my salad. I love sweet dressings like Catalina, Russian, or French dressing. And sometimes I switch it up with Vidalia Onion dressing. I say that toppings and dressings are up to you, whatever gets you to LOVE your greens, do it. Don’t worry about calories when it comes to this dish, it’s better to get your greens. Take away calories somewhere else.
