Be careful when using plastic to store or reheat your hot foods in the microwave.

There are several things you should know about your plastic. All of them can be toxic. Some more than others. You need to learn which plastics to use when reheating, when in doubt, reheat in a microwave safe dish.

Learn what the symbols mean on the bottom of your plastics. Learning this can not only help you choose a safe food container for reheating food in the microwave, but can also help you keep your plastic from damage.

Here are some symbols you need to know:

This international symbol indicates these products are made of materials that are specifically designed for contact with food. So it is safe for you to use them for food.

 CMJN de base

This symbol confirms that.products designed for use with food are guaranteed BPA, or BisCMJN de basephenol A free.

You can store and heat your food without any worries


This symbol indicates that the product is designed to be used in the microwave. So you can safelicon2y reheat or defrost food in it in a microwave oven.

Here is a little tip for you: when using the microwave, it is best to remove the container lid and then heat according to the power indicated (see temperature symbol).

Here is a little tip for you: when you take the container out of the fridge or freezer,

How safe are plastics as a storage container.
